So on Sunday (30th June) Craig and I made our journey to Disneyland Paris. We’re went for 3 nights and stayed at Santa Fe. This was the first time I’ve stayed at this hotel, so expect a full review soon!
Craig’d never been to DLP before, so he was super excited and we were both ready for a break!
We also travelled on the Eurostar from Ebbsfleet, which was another first for both of us, I wanted to see how that compared to London St Pancras.
This was also the first time using my annual pass (for my actual entry), and taking someone on the special priced tickets we get on the Infinity pass.
Be prepared for so many reviews & posts in the near future…
What did we plan?
Nothing, is the answer to that! Which was a first for me, and lemme tell you, it felt soooo weird. I pretty much left it up to Craig to decide whether we pre-booked any restaurants and he wasn’t too fussed. Honestly, I’m not a massive fan of the restaurants at Disneyland Paris, so I wasn’t too pushy with where we planned to eat.
Our plan was to basically go with the flow. Probably eat at the quick service restaurants majority of the time, in the parks, and maybe a couple of dinners in the Village wherever we can get in.
So even though there were no food plans, I did have a little idea of what parks we wanted to start in each day.
We were due to arrive at 2pm (but had about a 30 min delay), and we booked the Disney Express so we could head straight to the Disneyland Park.
If you’re unsure of what the Disney Express is, its basically where they take your bags once you arrive at Marne La Vallee Chessy. You just drop them off and they take them straight to your Disney hotel. That means that you can head to the parks and enjoy the rest of the day without having to worry about going to your hotel first. Its amazing.
Monday, we wanted to start in the Walt Disney Studios Park and rope drop Crush’s Coaster. Tuesday, rope drop Disneyland Park to hit up some of the big rides there, then Wednesday we could decide on either! Our train home was Wednesday evening so had loads of time that day too!
So as you can see, lots of time and very little plans! It’s the Lion King and Jungle Book Festival, so we definitely wanted to take advantage of all the special events and shows for that… oh and I’d already seen all the special snacks and decided I’d be trying the ALL haha!
What I packed!
France were having a heatwave the week before we were due to arrive, and I kept checking the weather constantly to see what we could expect for the days we were going to be there. It was going to be between 25 and 29 degrees – lovely! Now, I’m an ‘over-packer’.. I knew I’d only want summer clothes, but I always take too much, and I decided I’d want something long sleeved just incase it called down quite a bit in the evenings (lucky I was smart like that because Craig had to buy a jumper!).
So, without further ado, here’s what I packed (clothes wise):
– 2 x shorts
– 2 x denim skirts
– 1 x playsuit
– 1 x spirit jersey
– 4 x Disney t-shirts
– 2 x pairs of vans
I only needed to pack 3 outfits, but I packed 5! Just in case.. you never know what you might need, or whether you’re like me and constantly change your mind about what you wanna wear lol! Oh, I also took a pair of vans that didn’t get worn at all… standard.
Other bits I packed included:
– hairdryer & straighteners (which I didn’t use)
– 2 x park bags (1 of which I didn’t use)
– electronics (camera, chargers, mini fan that I didn’t use, etc)
If you wanna check out exactly what I packed, you can check out my YouTube video below!
So really I’ve just wrote this post for you to see that you don’t always have to plan your trip completely. Don’t get me wrong, some trips you do! But Disneyland Paris, if you don’t have a dining plan or preference, and you have at least 3 days there, then you probably don’t need much of a plan (in my opinion).
We had the best 4 days, Craig really enjoyed his first trip to Disneyland Paris, and it’s safe to say that I am even more excited for my upcoming trips – if that was even possible!!
I’ll be posting weekly, day by day description of what we got up to, plus different reviews and advice!
Please email subscribe to my page if you like my content and wanna hear more about our trip, and upcoming trips. And also check out my YouTube channel as I’ll be posting weekly on there too, (yes I did video a lot of our trip).
Thanks for reading if you managed this far!
